16x30x1 Furnace Air Filters, Pleated MERV Rating

Spacing of the pleats allows for air travel across the entire surface of the filter and increased filtering capacity. Larger dust particles are captured at the top and bottom of the pleat. Smaller particles will be caught in the sides of the pleat surface.

The filter is constructed from a rigid, fire retardant material. It performs extremely well even in difficult operating conditions. The filtering media is glued to the frame itself, ensuring that the air will not be able to escape, or bypass the filter.

There are numerous options available in furnace filtration. The most basic model is an inexpensive fiberglass filter within a cardboard frame; these are typically one or two inches thick and come in a variety of sizes. The fiberglass interior traps larger particles of dust and dirt. These filters are disposable and designed to be thrown away after one to two months.

A step up from the basic filter is a disposable pleated paper filter, which will remove smaller particles of dust, dirt, and pollen. These filters are more expensive but will last from four months to one year.

The most expensive filters are reusable electrostatic filters, which are designed to trap smoke and smaller airborne particles. Able to be rinsed clean with a garden hose as needed, these filters can be reused for several years if properly maintained.

The most important thing to know is the correct length, width and thickness for your replacement air filter. Once you know that, you can decide what's most important to you.  Is it maximizing your energy efficiency?  Removing more particles from the air? Clean air in your home should never be compromised. That's why we carry a wide selection of residential and home air filters, pleated air filters, furnace filters and ac filters, to help you breathe easier in your home.
